This TV first came out in 2020 but is still a current model and remains my top choice. As if that's not enough, the Roku TV operating system is our hands-down favorite. It's also a solid choice for gamers, with a THX mode that combines low input lag and high contrast. The TCL 6-Series Dolby Vision HDR TV has an excellent image thanks to mini-LED tech and well-implemented full-array local dimming that helps it run circles around just about any other TV at this price. No TV I've ever tested offers this much picture quality for as little cash.

I'll update this list periodically and if I haven't reviewed the newest version yet, I'll include a "2022 Outlook" section to give you a sense of what you're missing (or not). Based on my years of experience and side-by-side comparisons in CNET's test lab, I've chosen the best TV set of every type. An OLED television will give you the best picture quality, however, and could be more affordable than you think. LCD TVs with local dimming, mini-LED or QLED technology are usually less expensive than OLED televisions, and still perform well while supporting 4K resolution with HDR. TVs come in all sizes, prices and with a range of smart TV streaming systems - from Roku to Google TV to Samsung - but my reviews concentrate on the best TV picture quality for the money. With that in mind, here are the best TVs to buy at the moment according to my hands-on testing. That way, prices will have fallen and you'll get a better deal. If there's a 2022 TV that you really want, though, we recommend waiting to buy it for a few months. However, our advice right now is to buy a 2021 model instead. If you're in the market for a new TV, your first instinct may be to invest in a 2022 model.

But the web version works fine. Now that Spring is here, 2022 TVs will be hitting stores and the web. I do actually have this app on my computer & webOS phone. Given the size of a TV screen, perhaps it is assumed that you will use the browser - why do you need an app for these web services?Įxample: Spotify web player. On my computer, I'd just go to the website. Of course, some apps merely package web services for the smaller screen of a phone. Is there no email app which you can set up for Gmail? The old app works with a number of services. I would have thought it would be easy for LG to make them for the bigger screen. Good we have youtube, because this OS is uselessI'm surprised to read that as there were apps for the majority of those services on the original webOS. ther is no facebook, instagram, gmail, drive, twitter, snapchat, google photos, picassa, spotify! The main problem of web os is lack of apps.

there are some slowdowns and they are caused by animated menus. I have webos 2.0 on my lg lb650v beta version and it works better than 1.0.
